When you work hard and receive an award for your awesomeness.. you celebrate! With an impromptu mini photoshoot! You also bring your sweet American Stafford Terrier. Because dogs make all photos better right?

Today I want you to meet Dr. Brie Turns. Today Brie shares a little about her work and more.

” I am a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (LAMFT) and earned my doctorate at Texas Tech University and my master’s at Purdue University. I specialize in families raising a child with autism and I teach in the MFT program at Fuller Theological and treat clients at the Family Christian Counseling Center in Phoenix, AZ.

Currently, I am co-editing my first book Systemically Treating Autism: A Clinician’s Guide for Empowering Families. This is the first book that treats autism from a family perspective, rather than an individual framework.

I also am the founder, owner, and CEO of The Family Therapist, LLC, which is an online company that will launch in December 2018.

My award is from the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) Dissertation Fellowship Award. My dissertation investigated the effectiveness of solution-focused brief therapy for couples raising a child with autism (I won’t bore you with the details–haha).
(Additionally) My American Stafford Terrier-Nutella, Tella for short, is a certified Emotional Support Animal and was rescued in 2015 from California.”

This woman is phenomenal, and she points it all back to God.

She is so young but so accomplished and grounded. She is changing the world for the better and shedding hope & light into this world. I am proud to have met her and captured her sweet spirit.  I loved every moment Brie & I spent together. She’s incredibly sweet, smart, and beautiful.

She arrives saying, “I’m not photogenic, I hope these turn out okay”… I didn’t mean to laugh. But I did because she’s adorable and so easy to work with. And of course, she is kind and loved the back of the camera shots. She had smiles and encouraging words “You are really good at what you do!”  Honestly, everyone feels terrified of photos, I even wrote a blog HERE about how uncomfortable it is to be in front of the camera, and how I care a lot about capturing the best you!

I hope she ends up a repeat client because I loved getting to know her and would love to stay in her life and the great things she is doing.

For more information on Brie visit her site here:  http://www.DrBrieTurns.com.

Now let’s get to enjoy her sweet spirit & Tella’s chill personality.
