Honored Cherished and Loved An Intimate DIY Arizona Wedding

This is my moment of glory…This will most likely be my favorite wedding ever. No matter how many hundreds I do. Want to know why?

Because my son is the ring bearer!!!!!

But I also really love the bride & groom & their daughters. haha.

I was felt so honored, cherished, and loved when Aaron & Ali asked my son Mateo to be their ring bearer & walk the aisle with their beautiful daughters. It was an incredible honor to have my son be apart of their special day. I’m still riding that wave of pure glee. Mateo, on the other hand, was nervous, but I think he rocked it!

I am also honored that, since Ali is one of my very best friends, she invited me into their wedding in a much bigger way than I normally am. I helped plan & coordinate the wedding in so many different ways. It was seriously fun guys!

Aaron & Ali wanted this wedding to be about family & closest friends.

They wanted to focus their energy on having a party and a relaxed time together with everyone they love. Not needing the big reception, the fancy church, and the big wedding bill. lol. They just needed each other and those they loved. I am so glad I got to be apart of this do-it-yourself wedding. I was proud to help plan with the couple. Everything from the layout of the reception on our church lawn, to the placement of cake tables & ceremony set up was fun. Also, I got to decorate Liz’s cake!  My dear friend Liz made these gorgeous naked cakes (I volunteered her. haha. Sorry Liz, if you were not so talented I wouldn’t suggest you. So it’s your own fault if you really think about it. I am teasing I know Liz was honored to be asked & trusted. The cake was DELICIOUS!

So how to DIY?

You just need a really cute ring bearer, an amazing photographer, and friend who has been doing weddings for 10+ years. Just teasing.

Ali & Aaron did an amazing job researching what they needed to make the day customized for them. Ali is an amazingly talented artist. She designed & painted the invites AND she had made all the ceramic dish favors, and hand painted Aaron’. Aaron is incredibly crafty with his hands and built & painted so many elements from the games to the signs. Ali’s mom handled all the table decor & her brother is a Master Chef. What could go wrong? This family is truly the A-Team!

So without further bragging and joy, I present a seriously beautiful DIY wedding!

I really LOVE how Aaron makes Ali laugh. I see her laugh more with him in one day than since the day I met her. He really gives her so much joy.

And thankfully because they know me so well they felt comfortable enough to just be themselves, making it easy for me to capture that sweetness between them. Thanks guys for being yourselves, I LOVE it.

I do want to include one very sweet excerpt from Aaron & Ali’s engagement session that I posted New Year’s Eve. I shared about this marriage & how it was going to be different from their previous marriages. It’s a very sweet story if you have the time to read their story here is the link.

All Things New, Truth Hope and Healing Finding Love After Divorce Arizona Engagement Photographer

Is there anything you will “do” in this marriage that you hope sets you up for a lifetime together?

Ali: Yes. There are so many things that will “do”, however, continuing our walk with God together as a couple is extremely important for both of us and I know in my heart that this time it will be different because of that.

Aaron: We will keep going on dates. I will keep showing Ali that I love her. I will tell her every day, but words sometimes are just that; words. I will show her that I love her, and be the best husband I can be. I know that I have some growing and learning to do but as long as I keep her in my mind, we will be just fine.

Look it’s me! We are pretty cute together.
