Back to the blogging again my friends. I am so inspired by this client and her story that I was itching to write this post but I have been so busy with work and it’s hard to stay on top of sharing special favorites along the way! But alas here I am! Living life AND working. I happen to be at my sons soccer matching WHILE I’m typing this first part of the post up! haha.
I am so inspired by this marvelous women I recently met who flew down to Az from Chicago for work and booked herself a birthday celebration shoot in the desert.
Simply to celebrate herself, love herself, and not take a single day of her life for granted. Because life can’t be taken for granted and so often it takes a life altering experience to slow us down and teach us how to relish life and breath in each day with meaning and joy.
This client is so amazing she even sent me her story to share along with these super beautiful birthday celebration photos!
“Hi, I’m Amber Ash. I was diagnosed with Nodular Sclerosis Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (NSHL) directly after college.
Most students are ready to embark on their careers, but for me, it was ABVD chemotherapy and radiation. I lost my hair, eyebrows, and even my eyelashes.
Bleomycin (the B in ABVD) caused hyperpigmentation and Vinblastine (the V in ABVD) affected my nervous system, along with bone pain from Neulasta shots every week.
My spirit wasn’t broken, it was awakened! Thus I started digging deep, learning about my new body and ways to love myself through one of the most difficult battles. I found natural remedies in herbs, practiced meditation, started scheduling acupuncture and orthospinology appointments, and even created my own personal skincare routine.
I have always been a fighter, and now, at 36, I can look back and appreciate all the work I’ve done for myself emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually and my continued journey of self-love – it’s never-ending!
Since being in remission in 2012, I have celebrated my birthdays and cancerversaries to the fullest. I’ve gone skydiving, rock climbing, treated myself to spa days, lavish gifts, hotels, and restaurants, and this year I decided to do a birthday photo shoot with the one and only Tracy Battaglia and I am so happy I did! I had a blast feeling cute and sexy in my dresses and she was an absolute joy to work with.

Same! I am so inspired by this strong woman and her journey! I am so honored to have met her and spent a morning together getting creative and having a beautiful time together! My life is all the better to call her friend!
