Love Isn’t Canceled Engagements During COVID-19

Welcome back! I’ haven’t been blogging clients much for obvious reasons. COVID has really put a hold on most of my photoshoots. I have a few membership clients who are still shooting because it’s just the two of us and I wear my mask and stay 6 feet back. Thank goodness for zoom lenses!!!!

I had an engagement shoot that moved forward last week and we met at Scorpion Gultch. Thankfully the property was completely dead.

It’s such an odd time. I have been staying at home like ALL the time except for the weekly grocery/hardware store run but LOVE isn’t cancelled and people are still getting engaged or planning their weddings.

And it’s SO hard to plan a wedding right now.

There is so much uncertainty. Can guests come? When can they come? Should we reschedule? Should we elope?

I have couples in both camps. Several have rescheduled weddings and some are still holding out hope for fall weddings and am seeing an increase in elopements/10 person weddings.

Madison shared a little about what it looks like to be engaged and planning a wedding during COVID-19 below.

“COVID-19 has created a giant what if question mark over our 10/10/2020 wedding. We have been together for 5 1/2 years and have been planning our wedding since December of 2018. Which has turned into a garage full of wedding supplies and no real way to tell if we will be able to use them on our date as of yet.

For us everything is on pause… our latest version of a plan is to just be adaptable. Unfortunately no one can tell us right now what will be happening in October so if we get married at my fairytale venue with all of my fairytale decorations or if it’s just us and our parents in a backyard it will be special.

We are marrying our best friend and nothing can make that any less special.
