“The days go slow but the years go fast, don’t wish your life away” is always what my grandma says when I’m drained from another battle of willpower with my son. It’s the truest thing I’ve heard in a long time. Those simple words help me remember that this is a season in my life and it will go quicker than I think and I’ll miss him little. So I should attempt to enjoy the moments, stop and smell the roses so to speak, because one day I’ll forget. I’ve made a habit of photographing him in every day ways, writing down his quotes and mannerisms, and  stopping to breath and interact with him.
I encourage you to do the same and create space and a rhythm in your life of cherishing those moments. A great way to do that is make a habit of having those special years photographed to help you remember and cherish the moment in time. I encourage you to simple come as you are. Do not focus on the most matching outfit but rather the one you love, weather it’s fancy or work out clothes, as long as you love it and feel beautiful! Don’t worry about a scratch on the cheek or a bruise on the knee. These are the things we don’t want to forget. Remember them as they truly are!
As a lifestyle fashion and photojournalistic blend photographer, I try to focus on the way your family interacts together and the way you are in that space and time. Don’t worry, I’ll tell you where to stand and even basically what do to, ” like stand over here and interact like you would at home”. I will get a smile or two but I will also get the obsessed water bottle photo and the “I’m totally freaking out” because I want want my toy at this very moment too. Those are the stages that will pass and I want to help you remember them! So relax, laugh, tickle, and cuddle and let me create beautiful memories for you. I will find the flattering angles, the right composition, and a way to make those moments into art.
I love photography because I get to love on people!  I care so much about you and your moments and less about forcing a moment. I will always strive to simply make a space for you to be yourselves.
Enjoy this session as this family enjoys the little years of their daughter and I capture her personality and they way they are together, with a wonderful Desert Botanical Garden stroll.Â
