Adventure Deserts Cacti OH MY A Destination Photography Session

EEEEk. I’m so excited to share these gorgeous images today! I’m totally obsessed with my newest friend Kelsey from the Carolinas! And it’s the most chance meeting.

Kelsey decided, spur of the moment, to live her life to the fullest and go on an adventure with a friend to visit parts of the country she has never seen before.

And on these adventurous travels she decided she needed to celebrate her awesome self with a destination photography session! Of course in the desert with the hundreds of saguaro cacti our fabulous Arizona offers.

She literally googled photographers in phoenix and I popped up! And she loved my site, my vibe, and my ability to capture people in such a happy adventurous light. And we are BOTH lucky that I just HAPPENED to have a date open for her the same week! It’s so rare that happens on my schedule, so I just KNOW it was meant to be.

We had a totally girls day and drove out to Tonto together and explored the magical wonderland of our wildest deserts.

We also broke out my infamous smoke bomb stash for some seriously wicked shots! NOTE: I made sure to use the flame free ones. No lighter, no flame. It’s a pull tag. I also made sure to dig a little dirt hole to let it smoke. No danger in the heated dry desert. (If you are a client or photographer reading this with any intension of having some awesome props….PLEASE DO NOT use flames in Arizona friends…or let these go off anywhere near ANY plants- dead, alive, cacti etc…. it’s extremely dry and one spark can light up our whole desert and create a massive forest fire… and only YOU can prevent forest fires. haha Okay I’m done preaching. (Well almost… one other thought…)

I just want to be careful to share the precautions I take when using “pretty” props for shoots. I never use glitter unless it’s biodegradable (which is VERY easy to find), I would hate to ruin our desert and leave a mark. “leave no trace”I take very seriously. So also once the smoke bombs are done I cover the traces of color on the soil. I also wouldn’t want to ruin the spot for any other photoshoots/photographers.

But anyways aren’t they SO awsome???????? And doesn’t Kelsey have the BEST light up your life smile????? She ROCKED this shoot!!!!!!
