Chicago Beaches A Destination Family Photographer

AHHH it’s SUMMER and I am FINALLY back in Chicago offering family sessions again!

For the first time in 2 years! Covid really threw a wrench in my travel and shoot plans! But alas I’m back and I have the cutest family EVER to showcase!
This family is so sweet and special to me. I starting taking photos for Kate in Ian in 2013!!!! I was still so bad haha but they are so loyal and kind and invited me to shoot their wedding in 2014. Then we moved to Arizoan in 2016 and since they have had 2 beautiful wonderful darling children. So I was beyond honored to have them as my Chicago destination shoot weekend clients!!!!!!

And can I talk about how fluffy and happy my heart feels after this lovely time with them?

I mean their children are the BEST. So sweet that I got hugs & even a adorable ” I love you Tracy!!!” I can’t even!!!!!!!!!!!! Man I love them too. And not all kids are into the camera but these two were easily coherced with promises of silly faces and wanting to please me.

You see the thing with small children on shoots is to form a relationship with the kids before you try taking their photo. They want to smile and please you even if they don’t love taking photos and their little busy minds are on to the next thing 2 seconds after promises of toothy grins. You just need to reconnect constantly and show them you care about them. I just love doing that to get those lovely truthful faces.

And can we also talk about how cute this location is?

I offered shoots here a few years ago as well because it’s just so fun to have a beach shoot in Illinois! This is Chicago North Avenue Beach. It’s a favorite. I love the easy view of the city for sunset shoots & then the full on beach effect all in the same shoot. Also we got super lucky with these adorable row boats am I right? My favorite shots are totally when the kids climbed up to play and I got a sweet sibling kiss 🙂 EEEk my heart!

My job is so awesome. I get to travel, love people, get loved, and deliver precious memories and good times that last FOREVER. It doesn’t get any better than this friends.
