From High School To Life School Meet Nick Class of 2022
Man alive I feel for my high school grads. I barely remember the transition now decades later but every time I have a senior photoshoot I ask them if they are going to college… What they are going to major in.
But seriously…. very few know.
I mean how many adults know what they are going to do? Is it even realistic to know exactly what you want to be? I don’t think so.
Now yes, there are the lucky driven ones that know exactly what the next steps in their life looks like. But there are many more that just need to go to life school for awhile and just live and figure out what brings them life and joy.
Today’s shoot is my friend Katie’s younger sibling Nick’s senior photoshoot. I actually met nick when he was maybe 11 or 12 years old. He started coming with his sister to church and he was always drumming along in the pews during worship. I loved everything about that.
So on the shoot while catching up I asked Nick what the future plans where. Where he was going to college, what he was studying etc… And Nick isn’t for sure. And friends… that is OKAY! It’s okay to not be sure. It’s okay to explore and live a little life before jumping into years of debt and more education. It’s okay 🙂 So yeah… I titled this blog post from High school to Life school. Because no matter what comes next he will be exploring and living his life! He will be learning and growing no matter where or what he does. It’s the nature of life.
Even if Nick doesn’t know where or what the next step is, Nick is passionate about many things that may become something he studies, may be his path.
Nick, as I mentioned, has been a drummer for years. He did percussion in his marching band too!
He also participates in the robotics STEM club.
Also during our shoot he expressed interest in dance or ballet.
I loved how into this shoot he got.
He is obviously artistic and brought some seriously rad vogue moves to this shoot. I’m so happy he was able to be expressive and let a little of his personality shine. Because friends that is HARD to do! Right????? Photoshoots are scary and akward! haha. But my main goal is ALWAYS to bring someone out of their shell and let themselves shine. And Nick did just that!
I am excited to follow his life path and see where he is going.
Congrats Nick! And thanks again for letting go and being yourself on this shoot!
