Making Pretty Things Custom Wedding Suites and Websites Meet Basic Invite
I don’t know about you, but I love pretty things.
Seriously. Maybe it’s the artist in me, maybe it’s the little girl, maybe it’s just that humans love beautiful things. lol. Whatever it may be this constant draw to pretty things means that wedding day details are a favorite on your wedding day.
Did you know that I schedule time into your day to capture all the heart and soul behind the day if you allow me? Because let’s get real, you put MOST of your wedding sweat and tears into the months & years leading up to that day. You didn’t just show up, so forth, neither will I.
I will capture all of this hard work, all the sweat, and creativity that went into making your wedding yours alone. No one else will have a wedding exactly like yours. Because no one is exactly like you. There are things that make you as a couple, an “us”. And it’s special.
One of those creative ways that couples bring that “usness” to their wedding is through their invitation suite.
Seems simple enough, but it’s a piece of art, you guys!
I LOVE the moments I get to spend laying out these beautiful mini art canvases with ribbons, and rings, and fresh floral. Seriously, I could spend hours doing it, I could spend a day photographing details only! Today I spent two hours staging and photographing these! lol. Best Day Ever. However, don’t worry, I can make it pretty gorgeous in under an hour and get all the pieces in between as well. lol. One of the things in my client questionnaires is a request for them to bring their invitations and save the dates to me to photograph. You won’t be sorry!
Now, while there are many wonderful local artists that I frequently work with and recommend, that offer custom invitations, BUT I understand the need for many clients to use an online company to take invites into their own hands at an affordable price.
There are many online websites that offer this service, but today I would like to talk about Basic Invite. Several of my clients over the past year have used them and I loved what I saw, so today I’m going to share about my experience partnering with them on this project.
Basic Invite is an online design and printing platform that has a card for almost every major life moment, specifically, weddings. Their tagline is “Your Colors, Your Style, Instantly”
They offer beautiful and trendy options for paper products and also FREE wedding websites! I am so fortunate to partner with them on this specific blog post and show off this gorgeous suite I designed myself in just an hour. I am thrilled that I got to do this because it’s great to see what my couples are doing behind the scenes for their wedding details, and now I can give some advice on what to do when you want to customize your own invitation suite online.
1.) The website was really easy to navigate and incredibly customizable.
I’ve worked with other custom websites but they really haven’t been that customizable for a true creative as they have been simple and many things can’t be changed. However, Basic Invite was truly customizable. They have over 900 options that you can mix and match or simply stay with a line. You can find everything from save the dates to wedding invitations and enclosure cards, wedding menus, wedding programs and even matching thank you cards.
I actually choose to combine the invites & enclosure cards from the Leafy Love and Southern Romance lines to make something that I completely loved. This made me want to do my wedding ALL over again! lol. It’s super fun because I was able to change the fonts, colors (I even used the color picker to match my photo colors) and it gave an instant preview, while still allowing them to keep the design balanced. I was even able to upload my couples engagement photos on the backs of each piece!!!!! So that added the ultimate personal touch.
2.) Too much customization driving you crazy? Try the Seal & Send Wedding Invitation!
Their Seal & Send Wedding Invitations are an all-in-one wedding invitation with a tear-off RSVP postcard included. It’s incredibly simple and stress-free. The Seal & Send line is their newest collection and couples looking for a much easier option love this. Currently, they offer them in over 30 designs including the ever-popular foil options and like other products they are customizable. What’s extra special about our Seal & Sends is that guest’s addresses are printed on the front of each invitation which means no envelope necessary! All you have to do is share a link, collect guest addresses, and upload them onto your design, instantly. Once you receive your order all you have to do is add postage, fold your invites, and secure them with a sticker! Simple, easy, and super trendy.
3.) They allow custom samples to be ordered.
Samples are key to making sure you made something you truely love and it reflects your style. It’s a great idea to order a sample before you commit. And the samples were very affordable too. I am surprised they allow just one incredibly customized design to be printed and shipped. That’s a great service to look for and they have it!
4.) They offer free address collection services.
So you can collect your address from your guests and then add addresses & envelope printing to your invites. Talk about a time saver. This can be the most tedious part of sending invites. Addressing them all! UGH. I’d rather the company made it pretty and did it for me. Easy Breezy!
5.) They also offer FREE wedding websites that are customizable and can seamlessly match your custom invitation suite!
Many couples are building custom wedding websites to link in the invitations and tell their guests more about the wedding day. Anything from maps, engagement photos, places to stay, eat, play and more. Everything seems to be moving online, even my grandpa can surf the web! haha.
The coolest part is their websites can match your custom made invitation! They are also mobile friendly… oh and they are FREE??
I really love these invites I made, and I had an incredibly fun afternoon designing them and now staging and photographing them. I am glad I took on this project and I hope you find some help in the review.
Also as a special treat, Basic Invite has set up a partnership program with my clients.
Now, remember for your wedding day to order 2 extra copies of all your beautiful invites. Hand these to me on the wedding day with some ribbon, floral, twine, or other decor pieces of your wedding day,(and give me an hour) and I will great beautiful art that highlights your custom and beautiful suites.
