The Wedding Vendor World A Queen Creek Olive Mill Engagement Session. So how does that title go together? lol. Let me tell you.
So I’m super lucky to have a new wedding world friend that understands the wedding vendor world and the struggle to redefine success in our field.
Caroline and I actually met not that long ago, at a creative and styled event that I was asked to photograph for my dear friend Dawn. Because we are both in the wedding industry we hit it off right away with plenty to talk about. Caroline was handling rentals with her company Bright Events for the photoshoot. Instantly, I liked her. She was fun and personable and I wanted to be friends like THAT day! And she, of course, is amazing, so she agreed.
Just one work lunch date later and I feel like I’ve known this woman my whole life. She’s truly a kindred spirit. When I am fortunate enough to come across those rare souls my life is made infinitely better. I am encouraged by our blooming friendship and how well she understands my heart for what I do. I’ve had the most splendid time getting to know this amazingly sweet and down to earth woman. She is kind, vibrant, and engaging. I am so looking forward to getting to know her better.
We have been having conversations about relationships in the wedding industry with other vendors, the constant juggle of keeping up with social media, and so many other heartfelt down-to-the-grit-of-it conversations. I’ve been sharing with her and here on my blog this week (and have more to share next week and beyond) about success and how I am trying to redefine it for myself as a business owner. For too long I’ve let this idea of popularity and profit define me as a business owner or even my value as a person! It’s been so wonderful to talk about this subject with Caroline because it can be a lonely field of work. It’s dear to my heart and it’s great to have friends to share it with, that totally get it and can give me an AMEN SISTER!
So these conversations have been motivating for the next few blogs posts you will see here. I’m branching out to talk more about this topic soon! Stay tuned or follow my blog as I am writing more engaging posts about this “Refinding Success” thought process as I tell more about my purpose driven-life and career.
But it’s time to get back to the other half of this post. Which is Caroline & JR’s beautiful Queen Creek Olive Mill Engagement session!
I am so thrilled to call Caroline friend, and I’m beyond giddy when she asked me to be apart of her and JR’s wedding at El Chorro next summer. Because not only is she fun, and adorable, but shooting friends weddings is the highest honor! Caroline has such an eye for detail so I know it’s going to be an artistic, Italian, Greek and drop dead beautiful wedding! I’ve been dying to work at this venue too because it’s perfectly Arizonan. I haven’t been in Arizona long enough to find all the venues that fit my style yet. I’m slowing building them in as the opportunity arises. I also happen to really like the coordinater there, she is very kind and also an amazingly strong woman rocking at life in the wedding world! So it will be great to work with their team.
I got to meet the infamous JR and sweet Millie at their engagement session. I couldn’t wish anyone more love and success than Caroline and JR (and Millie of course)THey are really fun together and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way he makes her laugh and the session was carefree and fun all around from the picnic, wine, Millie and smoke bombs! Altogether, it was a super cute session at another Arizona venue I had not yet shot at.
I LOVE new locations. For being such a big city, I do seem to shoot at a lot of the same places. Once someone sees your work at a venue, they tend to want to stay at what they see. Thanks, Caroline for branching out! Totally worth the risk.
Now that I’m partnering with Caroline to make her wedding stunning, work lunch dates just got even more fun. I’m really looking forward to the next 10 months of wedding planning, industry conversations, and more about staying true to your own life’s ambitions and dreams. Life really doesn’t get any brighter.
Cheers to Jr & Caroline. May their engagement be fun, carefree, and fast but not too fast. haha. Enjoy the rest of the session.
