Not Just Another Photographer Maternity Portraits at the Desert Botanical Garden
The time has come! I have been in Arizona long enough to see marriages thrive and as such, I have been photographing these happy couples long after their weddings. Today’s shoot is another post of a past wedding client. They are celebrating their first pregnancy with maternity portraits at the Desert Botanical Garden.
Sometimes when I’m feeling down as an artist (mostly from me letting social media make me feel inferior or less successful than all the other photographers), I have to stop and celebrate my own goals and dreams. I cannot let myself be guided by anything but the truth. This is where shoots like this bring me great joy. That is if I recognize and allow that truth to sink in and change me.
I am a photographer, yes… but I’m not just another photographer. I care deeply about my clients, I become their friends, I follow their lives, successes, journeys, and their love.
My clients are very special to me and I want them to know that immediately. I know what people desire in a photographer isn’t just someone who can capture their day well and beautifully. It’s someone that will capture it in a way that makes them relive that day. Someone that can be happy with them and share in their lives. And that’s what I do. I don’t just try and it’s not a struggle for me. It’s just who I am. I just love people and care about them. When I show up at that wedding or portrait my main goal is to make them feel beautiful, loved, and wonderful. I want them to enjoy their time spent with me and walk away joyful, less nervous, and super excited to see their photos.
So when couples like Cynthia and Cory contact me when they are expecting their first baby for maternity portraits, even when they live halfway across the united states now, I know I’ve succeeded at loving them.
They not only loved the images they have to remember their engagement, and wedding day, but they know that I will celebrate this baby and be totally excited to spend a morning with them at the Desert Botanical Garden, just walking along, swapping life updates, and photographing this great adventure in their story.
So today I just wanted to share that, I’m thrilled with all the wonderful clients that are repeat clients. Year after year, celebration after celebrations, I get to capture moments in their journeys & lives.
I am reminded that I am succeeding at loving people and helping them feel beautiful, cherished, and worth every minute of my time & talent.
This shoot is perfect to lead into my next post, because two weeks in a row I’m celebrating with repeat clients. Stay tuned for Rayla’s two-year session in a few days. I’ll be raving about more wonderful people that have come into my lives.
Please join me in celebrating Cythnia & Cory’s sweet baby due to join them in just a few months.
