How To Find An Engagement And Wedding Photographer Online
Back at you today with another engagement session! This make me SO happy because it means people are carrying on with life.
They are loving, marrying, making babies and life is moving forward.
It felt like a lot of last year life was at a standstill. I’m so happy to be photographing couples getting engaged and married again!
A big congrats to Malcomb and Ariel, who found me online!
This is how we are getting found without bridal shows & networking. Thank goodness for google and yelp and most of all a great website that showcases who I am, my style of photography, and a lot of my personality! It was worth every minute I spent building and customizing it.
There are several ways to find photographers in your area online.
There are wedding specific websites – like wedding wire & brides etc (but sometimes those are limited to if that photographer wants to put time and effort into another site) and most are based on how much you pay to rank high…so one of the best ways is simply to GOOGLE!
Because photographers who are invested in their business are on google! You can also pop over to Yelp to check out reviews. And google will find photographers who rank well because others are interested in their site. Also it means they have used SEO (search engine optimization) to get found. Which also means they are paying attention! They care.
We use to be able to meet and no big deal, but these days we are practicing social distancing and limiting our interactions. So it can be totally weird to meet your photographer for the first time on your engagement shoot. This is where websites come in! You can already feel slightly comfortable based on how much you have gotten to know them on their site. Videos help a lot FYI. I have invested a lot in Video with the Good Vibe Media over the past year and now I have real content where people can get to know me!
With such beautiful websites and online platforms you can get to know your photographer simply by browsing their website- if they have been intentional to show up and introduce themselves in this way! This is also a good sign that they are invested in their business
Invested and intentional in their business = invested and intentional with their couples.
There is no more apparent way that an artist is all in than with a gorgeous website that showcases everything they do and who they are during this online times.
Ariel and Malcomb shared that they simply found me on google and fell in love with my style of photography and personality from my website.
They loved how everything was vibrant and alive and I couldn’t have had a better more joyful moment than hearing this from then and many of my recent couples. Because this means all the 100+ hours I’ve spent curating and creating that online space, and asking clients for reviews on google & yelp- has all been worth it.
I am showing up in a big way and it’s the best way to bring the right clients in- i’m forever grateful for clients like Malcomb and Ariel
I’m so thankful in many ways for COVID forcing me to launch my consulting and website business: Finding Joy Consulting.
I spent my downtime in spring of 2020 elevating my photography and consulting brands. This includes spending a lot of time thinking about attracting the right kind of clients through my online presence. I am so glad I used my time well! I’m meeting so many fabulous people that find themselves on this site I created in the spring.
So enjoy searching online and take time to dig into their website to see how invested they are in their business and will be in you.
Then set up an online consult if you still aren’t sure. Most of my couples love me and book me with a simple email. That makes me so proud that it’s so clear WHO I am. Couples can see that and they don’t necessarily need to meet me to KNOW I’m perfect for them.
Thanks you to Malcomb and Ariel who just knew we were a great fit. Because we are! We had such a fun engagement shoot and I know the wedding is going to even more perfect! And another big congrats to them and their LOVE! And fingers crossed for them to have the big wedding in summer of 2022~
