The Reality Of Newborn Photoshoots Meet Baby Nora
Time to just get honest for a moment and talk about the reality of newborn shoots.
Did you know it takes more time to get the baby in the correct outfit and get them to sleep (like REALLY asleep-to the point you can mess with them & they flop around into the right pose you need to get those cute squish photos that are unique to newborn photography) than it takes to actually take the darn photos?
It’s true. It can takes HOURS. But hey I’m a pretty patient person, I haven’t yelled at a newborn yet. lol. This is almost 20 years of taking photos of newborns for me and it’s just the reality of the process of newborn photography.
It takes patience and a healthy dose of chill. I bet you didn’t think I was chill. But I can TOTALLY chill. Just waiting around for my babies to sleep is the chillest I ever get.
So parents… I know we said we need 2 hours for newborn photos and you are imaging a MILLION photos like seriously 2 hours min, yeah soooo we will actually be shooting maybe 20 minutes. lol.
Mostly you will be feeding, shhing, cuddling, begging your baby to just go to sleep. Occassionally we get lucky and the babies are chill but would you want to be in a new place, new people, new lights and then have someone change your outfit like 6 times and put your arms & legs and face in werid posions you’ve never been in? No? Well I imagine it makes it hard to go to sleep. lol.
But also the miracle of newborn photography… is all that patience is a virtue and once we DO get them content and passed out it’s just SO much fun to put them in all the cutest positions and stare adorning ly at those chubby cheeks and perfectly formed noses, lips, fingers and toes!
And this photoshoot went that way. Everyone meet Baby Nora!
Also if you have been reading my blog awhile or know me at all this cute baby girl is my friend Katie’s! My son Mateo’s 2nd & 3 rd grade teacher who I became friends with when I shot her & her husband Evan’s wedding AND launched my planning business “Fully Alive Events” officially and helped her plan and execute thus mentioned wedding.
And now it’s the great joy of babies for these two! I’m thrilled and honored to capture Noras newborn photos and I’m so thankful she finally decided to calm down and chill with me. lol. She slept great at the end and we got the CUTEST photos! I’m so in love with her and her parents! I can’t wait to watch her grow up!
Enjoy and remember patience is a virtue always… but especially with newborns. lol.
