A Salt River Engagement Session Furry Friends Family and Adventure
Meet Daniel & Kim; and Leroy & Lady 🙂
What exactly is it that makes humans and pets bond so closely? They become our fur babies. We give them our last names, we fall apart when we lose them, we celebrate their birthdays. lol. Is it the fuzzy softness, the personalities of the pets, or simply a scientific explanation? Much has been written on this bond. Regardless of the scientific proof and the emotional bonds, they become our family. They become an intricate part of our lives.
Leroy and Lady are no different, they are such a big part of the couple’s lives. Leroy is a black lab and Lady is Lab/German Short Hair Pointer Mix. Daniel & Kim will celebrate with a destination wedding this coming fall and will not be able to have their furry friends at the wedding; so they wanted to include them in the engagement session. They had a great time in the open air of the Salt River and Coons Bluff and we enjoyed having them along for the adventure.
I love when my couples have a sense of adventure and don’t mind some traveling to get the perfect spot.
The Salt River is one of my favorite places to play with my son. It’s peaceful, beautiful, and fun! It’s my happy place. Taking clients out there when they are willing to take the time to travel & drive to several spots makes my day. I loved that this couple was willing to go to multiple locations and stay for civil twilight. You can tell adventure is a theme in their relationship.
Unfortunately, the river was INSANELY crowded and overrun with other photographers and families on the day we choose. Great minds think alike. haha. Regardless, we made it work but if I had more freedom on the river that would have been truly awesome. Think dogs and humans in the river waist deep (almost happened). Just kidding! I will have plenty of water to photograph at the wedding!
Family is an important element for these two.
I will share more about their story and future plans for the wedding feature, but since the couple has been together for 5 years I wanted to know the beginning of their story, and the engagement.
“Daniel and I met at work on a Waste Water Treatment plant. We work in construction. We met on the job site where I flirted with him for a month before he got the hint and asked me out. ”
This adorable couple got engaged on labor day weekend of 2017 in Rocky Point with both of their immediate families there. Isn’t that beautiful! I love that family is so closely tided to and surrounding this couple in love and support. The wedding will be so intimate and perfect.
“That was our first big family vacation and we all stayed in one beach house. We will be getting married in Tulum on November 10th, 2018! We are both excited to have the most epic family vacation in Tulum and expect to have about 50 friends and family members there. Both coming from big families that are pretty close will make this most definitely entertaining. “
I am so excited for their upcoming weddings in Tulum Mexico this fall. We have begun the planning stages and everything is falling into place perfectly. Watch back this winter for the feature!
For now, let’s enjoy the pups, mountains, river, trees, and adventure!
