Finding Joy An Italian Greek El Chorro Wedding. Caroline and JR’s Wedding Sneak Peek.
Writing blog posts to go along with wedding sneak peeks is no easy feat! Especially when you are not an experienced writer. Heck I’m the girl who makes up words! lol. So I have to stop and think long and hard about what to write each time. Do I write an informative post that helps my readers find unique venues, or learn about wedding traditions, styles, or even amazing vendors? Do I write about the couple and their story, the day, the decor? All the above are fun and many times I do write about those things, but today’s post is sparked by Caroline and JR’s joy! It’s contagious and I want to share it with you!
Let’s talk about love and marriage and how finding joy together can only make it stronger.
My husband and I are approaching our 12 year anniversary and we have been through a lot like most couples. Because, people are messy and well, we bring our mess into marriage. One thing I know for sure has helped us in our journey, is that we are best friends, and our sense of humor and ability to find joy with each other is a very strong asset.
Here, are three simply ways I find joy in my marriage and life as well as things I see Caroline and JR practicing!
Finding joy is often about perspective. Perspective is powerful and builds what we believe about life. So by choosing to practice daily gratitude you can keep your hearts and minds in a joyful perspective. It’s not about ignoring the rawness of life or the pain, but rather finding joy even when things are hard, so the that the things you are grateful for overpower the brokenness of hardships and they carry you through.
Friendship & Authenticity
My husband and I are best friends, this is always a good starting point for finding joy. We can joke around, keep life light, and be the best of friends. We can be downright real with each other… I didn’t say “mean”- I said real. Don’t be mean to each other, you can be authentic and truthful in your marriage and deliver it with kindness while wanting the best for your friend. Having their best interest at heart.
I know every marriage is different but I truly think that adventure in the marriage can keep it joyful. Having fun is super important. Now this doesn’t have to be an Italian or Greek adventure (however a honeymoon to ether place would be RAD) but even the little things. Whether, it’s a tv or book adventure every night together, dates, or simply doing life together and finding adventures can make a marriage strong.
These are obviously JUST a few ways of finding joy in your marriage. But they are good ones! So that leads us to why I think Caroline & JR’s Italian Greek El Chorro Wedding fits todays topic.
When I think about these two, one thing stands out like a neon sign.
How much joy these two bring each other and everyone around them.
They obviously both practice gratitude, they are best of friends, down to earth and authentic with each other, AND they will be having an Italian adventure together for their honeymoon this fall!
Truly from the second I met Caroline at the Warehouse 215 for the creative coverings and Bright Events Summer Soiree ( click here) to the second I met JR for the engagement session, I knew joy was the theme and their down to earth realistic love for each other was strong.
From their sports rivalry, to their Italian- Greek heritages and traditions ( you will find super fun greek dancing at the bottom of this post), this El Chorro wedding shows the great joy they bring each other in almost every shot.
As such, I cannot think of a better thing to write about than finding joy in your marriage. Partnering up with your favorite person should bring you great joy and fun! Because marriage is hard you guys! You NEED laughter, gratitude, lightness, adventure and joy to get you through any relationship. Love is a choice you make, but it’s sure a lot easier to make when your partner makes you laugh, brings you joy, and you can simply be yourself with.
Caroline and JR are perfect for each other and offer all of these qualities into their marriage. As I sift through their El Chorro wedding images, I smile over and over again at all the joy I see shining in each and every moment.
Congratulations to these two and I am excited to remain a part of their lives and their great adventure!
