Words Of Encouragement Destination Weddings During Covid

Planning your weddings during Covid is a nightmare and a half to say the least. Planning a DESTINATION wedding is even harder.
But don’t loose hope or joy!
Today I have the most joyful and beautiful of brides (and a dashing groom that is madly in love with his bride) here to share with you some words of encouragement and tips and tricks about pushing through during this season and making the best of things.
But first, a word from me…Christina and Tyler are truly wonderful humans.
I feel so lucky to not only capture their engagement & wedding but to become lifelong friends with them.
Christina & her mom met me at the Arizona Bridal show but her date on Oct 17th 2020 had been booked for over a year with another bride so sadly we parted ways. Eventually she found a photographer but due to COVID and the long distance (They are in Colorado) that relationship didn’t work out. So when I got the email from Christina asking if I had recommendations I was OVER THE MOON. Because… my bride sadly needed to cancel her wedding because she lives in Saipan and was unable to actually travel to the US for the wedding.
I am SUPER sad for my dear friend & bride but I was ecstatic to now be able to work with Christina!
They say when a door closes a window opens! And Christina and Tyler were a wonderful window.
Christina just radiates joy and excitement for life that is on par with my spirit and heart. Every interaction with her has been life giving and I just love her.
Tyler is funny and kind and real. Nate (my husband – second shooter ) and him had such a great day getting to know each other. The best part is he adores Christina and has a joy for life of his own. He was so easy to relate to and so open and honest.
We just love this couple!
The whole wedding day was a bubbling of love and joy from Christina, you can just SEE the joy in the photos.
You would have never known they had so many challenges and changes just getting to the wedding day! But it was NO easy feat.
Not only did they have to switch photographers just months from the wedding they also were forced to change venues due to Covid restrictions. But did all these changes get them down? HELL NO> they found and chose joy. And the wedding day couldn’t have been more beautiful and wonderful and a much needed breath of fresh air during this season.
I’m super excited to share some words of encouragement for other couples out there planning a destination wedding during Covid.
Christina & Tyler were willing to give me some hands on experience & love for the blog! So let’s let the couple take it from here!
If there were a couple things I learned navigating as a bride during COVID19 pandemic it is to let go, let be, embrace the process, and go with the flow.
I was humbly reminded that I am not in control and all the changes, mishaps, frustrations, and uncertainties that we had to process and work through, they were absolutely meant to be and truly were for the best. While it may not have felt that way at the time, in hindsight, I honestly believe everything worked out how it should and we ended up with the most incredible vendors and the most magical day that was a dream come true.
In spite of the unpredictability that is COVID19, we found our happily ever after and are grateful for our journey and the courage we mustered up to charge through!
My husband’s (eek still unreal and fun to say) words of encouragement are to find a venue that is accommodating, flexible, and understanding. Loving reminder, the day is about you and your person so let your voice be heard and not lost in the plans and agendas of others.
Christina & Tyler

So there you have it. Don’t loose hope, find joy even amidst the chaos and at the end of the day there will be light and love!
Enjoy these gorgeous photos and scroll to the end for a list of fabulous vendors that made all Christina & Tyler’s dreams come true!
