3 Tips For Summer Maternity Photos In The Desert Heat
Hello again friends! I’m so honored by all the people reading & following my blog! Thank you so much for following & supporting me!
Today’s beautiful shoot is another gorgeous maternity shoot!
The Hoffmans are welcoming their first baby this coming August and booked a grow package with me! So I’m honored to photograph not only this beautiful desert maternity shoot for them but also their newborn shots in August, and next years 1 year birthday shoot! I can’t even wait! You will also get to follow their journey into parenthood right here on my blog!
A big thank you so my husband for recommending me to Trisha!
They work together and he suggested me when she was searching for a photographer! He’s the BEST! I wonder if I should pay him a referral fee? haha. I paid my son one for recommending his 2nd grade teacher for her wedding! haha.
Okay I’m crazy over here and going down the rabbit trail.
I thought I would make todays post about 3 Tips For Summer Maternity Photos In The Desert Heat.
See you can’t control WHEN you get pregnant and you really want to shoot the maternity photos when your belly is nice & round- so usually that is somewhere between 30-36 weeks depending on your body… and you can’t control it if those weeks fall in the heat of the summer… And you live in the Arizona Desert! haha. Also the Hoffmans wanted the whole desert vibe to embrace the beauty of where they live. So alas, we spent an evening together in Tonto walking around the cacti and mountains during a 118 heat wave. It is what it is.
So here are my top tips for how to stay cool & still enjoy a maternity shoot in the desert heat.
- Bring TONS of water & hydrate a TON the 24 hours leading up to your shoot & maybe even bring a mister fan
- Schedule only 15-20 min mini shoots then sit in the car to cool down (We did 3 little mini shoots at the nearby spots for this shoot)
- Shoot either early morning or the hour before sunset (what we did) so you are not out in the heat of the day. Also start in shaded areas and leave the open exposed spots for last.
Okay those are just a few tips- I have a whole client resources preparing my clients of their shoots encompassing a WIDE variety of tips & tricks for clients who have booked! So If you have booked me for a future shoot check out my client resources in your client portal!
Enjoy this beautiful sunset sunset desert shoot!
