The More The Merrier A Christmas Newborn Session Meet Baby McKayla
I hope everyone had the merriest of Christmas’s if you celebrate and an amazing New Year!
In 2022 we saw an influx of newborns and I couldn’t be happier! So cute and squishy and entirely swoon worthy! So I couldn’t think of anything cuter than having my first 2023 blog feature (also happening to be my LAST 2022 shoot) the cutest little Christmas newborn!
Meet baby McKayla!
You might have seen a recent blog feature for the maternity shoot for her actually. ” My Third Times A Charm An Arizona Maternity Session” Baby McKayla decided she wanted to arrive right before Christmas instead of waiting for the new year as planned. lol.
So she just happened so be my very last 2022 photoshoot, and like I mentioned, my first 2023 blog feature!
I thought maybe I’d share a little behind the scenes info on this shoot too- just for the fun of it.
This is my third newborn shoot for this family. The first two I shot the babes outside which gives me amazing natural light without much fuss and babies tend to love the sun and fall right asleep…but this day just happened to be pretty cold & totally overcast! So even thought it took a little more time & patience I brought my lighting & my mobile studio.
We had so much fun creating these “studio” like vibes.
I do LOVE nature light but when we need to do something wildly creative OR beat the clouds… my lighting set up shows up for the win.
Newborns also come with a set of challenges other shoots don’t. Like poop & crying & refusal of everything you want them to do. hahah. But I’m winning at life! McKayla had NO interest in doing anything but staring with eyes wide open, pooping all over the props, and wanted nothing to do with being put down. lol. But I WON that battle. lol. I got her to sleep in all our planned props and have the CUTEST little newborn shots because of it. Yes I did have to sit here with my hand like this for awhile… but totally worth it…
