I’m Feeling 42 Tracy’s Eras Tour Birthday Party

I don’t know about you but I’m feeling 22 42… lol

Today is my birth-TAY! And as a true swifty I’ve gone all in and thrown myself an Eras Tour “Tracy’s Version” party.

Since I was very small I’ve had an affinity for a good outfit, theatrics, singing, dancing, pure joy and just a good time! And while every day is a good day for all those things, and they often happen daily, my favorite holiday… (aka my birthday) is the best DAY yet to do all those things with friends… and go the whole 9 yards!

So I did.

I’ve loved and grown with Taylor Swift since October 2006 when her first debut album “Taylor Swift” was released.

I love Taylor Swift for many reasons and here are some-

• Her diversity in music (um hello- country, pop, rock, folk???)
• She writes her own music (ALL OF THEM) and she’s SUCH a good storyteller! Her music is so relatable for me.
• She’s a singer, songwriter AND musician
• She has a fantastic voice and it was grown with her.
• She is strong & resilient -people have been SO cruel to her and judged her as being stupid and so much judgment around boys??? Seriously… Hello everyone- you watched a teenage girl grow up in the spotlight. That’s so unfair. Many of us were the same without someone filming the whole thing. So many other artists & famous people have collapsed into drug, relationships, and total chaos. She is STRONG.
• She fights for herself, she grows and learns and shares her story & her life with so much vulnerability
• She LOVES her fans!

I could go on but these are just some keys of why I love her.

So let me share a little about my life & how I have so many memories & moments connected to each of her albums! Let’s take that journey together if you care…

2006 – Taylor Swift

I was graduating from art school in the heart of my country Era when she released this album. I was most often found dancing to Dixie Chics & Dolly Parton. So in walks these new country hits (these were my favorite songs which I added to my playlist on repeat immediately) – ” Our Song” ” I Should’ve Said No” and “Picture To Burn”. I just loved them so much! Fun, storytelling, upbeat, even some fiddle! It was my JAM.

I rocked out to these hits through starting Fully Alive Photography legally, and then getting engaged & planning a wedding!

2008 Fearless

– quit my job and went FULL time into my photography business. This was a big joy in my life to help me get through those growing pains.

2010 Speak Now

– I was starting to think BABY. lol and just growing up in many ways. Navigating running a business, one of my busiest years of business ever happened that year.

2012 Red –

I had just had Mateo this year and his first dancing was done to ” I Knew You Were Trouble” I mean I have so many videos of him dancing to this song!

2014 1989-

I’ll admit ….I had a hard time with this album at first- when I first put it on It didn’t really have any country vibes left. It was pure pop- My friend Stephanie gave it to me when visiting her in California and by the time mateo and I drove the 7 hours home I was completely smitten and couldn’t stop Shake (ing) It Off! lol. It was also her first release after moving to Arizona so it was a new genre for a new time and a NEW me too!

2017 – Reputation

– Can we just talk about how freaking awesome and different this album is? I loved her rage & pure anger and fighting for herself and standing up for her freedom. OMG Obsessed. This got me through moving from our townhouse to our first time single family home!!! It was an exciting time for me and this album carried me through!

2019- Lover-

In walks my FAVORITE album (well until midnights lol) I was just OBSESSED with this album. it will always hold a space in my heart. I’m not sure why I love it so much. haha. It’s so inclusive and fun and beautiful! But also so much color! I love color. haha. It also carried us into the pandemic.

2020- Folklore-

So Taylor Swift officially because my FULL on hero when she released a FOLK album so beautifully done while we were all depressed, confused and stuck at home!!!

2020- Evermore –

AND PART TWO? More epic stories and beauty and escapes to story lands while still stuck at home!!!! I mean who is Taylor Swift ANYWAYS?

2021-2023 Re-releases-

She said FUCK You Forever to her old label, took her life and songs back and recorded her albums!!!! I mean if you don’t know anything about this re-recording and label issue you should read. Because if you didn’t think she was strong before- you might now.

2022- Midnights –

I’ve officially died and gone to heaven. BEST ALBUM EVER. Sometimes I can’t sleep at night because EVERY song is favorite and I can’t sleep. Also considering re-naming Coco (my dog) Karma… Just saying it might happen. I’m getting squirrely… lol. Her registered name is Lavender Haze… haha. This album is also really great because it felt like a release from Covid. The world feels put back together. The pandemic didn’t destroy us and many of us are stronger. I know I am!

Anyways there is Tracy Loves Taylor’s discography…

I threw myself an I’m Feeling 42 party.

The invites are epic, the event was fun, and I’m so glad I did it! ( the rest of this blog is the same as my newsletter message if you get that- but just in case I thought I would share those thoughts)

I don’t know about you but for me it’s really hard to push myself sometimes to do things in life.

• Things I want to do,
• things I don’t want to do but know are good for me- 
• just THINGS…

because sometimes it all just feels like TOO much. 

Because let’s be honest. Life is HARD sometimes. And it feels constant and overwhelming and just too much. Even the privileges… like hosting a birthday party! 

Like the time I threw myself a Barbie 40th party…(it’s on my blog if you want to see- it was SO cute even when I had to make half the things because barbie for adults wasn’t popular yet two years ago. haha)BARBIE BLOG HERE

And this year’s Taylor Swift party… 

Such a privilege, and a treat. 

BUT man it was a lot of work. 

And some days I just want to throw in the towel and say – why am I even CREATING all this stress for myself??? Because I didn’t HAVE to throw a giant party again…this is ridiculous…

But what I do know is that…

you live once (ONCE)

AND when I push myself and do the hard thing…

it’s always worth it!

So if you are feeling like something is a giant hurdle. 

Maybe it’s a goal but it’s taking forever, 

maybe it’s something fun you want to do because you LIVE once and why not? 

Maybe it’s something you WANTED and now you have it and it’s just too hard (like that dog I bought myself due to covid crazies) she’s lots of work. lol. 

you aren’t alone…

maybe you just need a little reminder 

that it’s going to be WORTH it!
