Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow A Laguna Beach Family Photoshoot

I’m sad to say this will most likely be my last shoot with this sweet family on the beaches of Southern California. I’ve had the great honor and joy to photograph this family since 2016 when their oldest was just a baby!

It all started in Phoenix when Erica and Sostenes moved to Phoenix from the Carolinas for school and I had the great pleasure of meeting Erica and we became friends instantly!

Our first shoot in Phoenix was before they moved to LA when their oldest was just a baby still! HERE. and we spent several years building our friendship. Erica has always been dear to my heart. She has that kind of vulnerability, love, grace and joy paired with groundedness, grit and relatability that draws you to her! She’s been an amazing friend to me. And obviously a supportive friend and client!

They moved out to LA and I thought that was a sweet sorrow but I’m so glad we stayed friends and have made it a point to see each other and to simply text or talk on the phone.

Also, since we travel to LA/ Southern California almost every summer and I usually take a few clients I’ve had the honor of photographing them several times on the beautiful beaches of Laguna!

HERE are some cute family photos in the SAME location from 2019! How they have grown!!! And then we did a brand shoot for Erica last summer in Laguna too when she launched her private therapy practice! We went down to downtown Laguna beach and one of my favorite spots on Victoria beach! So even if we are parting on our summer in person visits- I know it’s not the end of our friendship.

I just need to build a client base in the Carolina’s now so I can fly out there for sessions. Any Carolina readers? Fly me there because I just have to keep photographing this family! haha.
