A Decade Of Memories Another So-Cal Family Photoshoot

YES! Another shoot to the bucket of awesome memories & moments with my friend Kate & her beautiful family!

This shoot marks 12 years of capturing Kate’s life! Even thought we have not lived in the same state since college, Kate has invited me into her life year after year in such a beautiful way! Not only as her friend, but as her photographer! She has invested in me, believed in me, and let me capture SO many of her memories! I am forever grateful!

It all started in 2011 when she flew me out to LA from Illinois to capture her pre-wedding shoot, wedding day, AND a super fun “trash the dress” session post wedding.

You can read that story & see those photos here– Also Ismael saved us from immenent drowning… because this shoot was before I was aware of “tide” hahah. We ALL went under that day… camera and all. My worst photographer story ever… somehow also my best. lol.

And now for the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of photographing the Alvarez family’s life almost every other year!

I flew for the wedding & for their firstborn sons newborn shoot but now it’s MUCH easier to commute since I drive every year from Arizona! And every year I take my favorite LA clients and look forward to it every summer!

Every year for our shoots we have hit up the classic beachy sunset. I haven’t posted blogs for each shoot but here are some previous shoots 2014 –2018 –2019. However this year we were ready for extra fun daytime adventures! So I scouted and found Newport Beach! What a GEM! Here we shared laughs and captured joyous moments against colorful rides & shops as well as city streets.

And what’s an adventure without a ferry ride?

We couldn’t resist the charming ferry ride across to Balboa Island, and all it took was a $12 ride and a sweet “can I take thier family photo aboard?”. And ta-da! New fun spontaneous gleeful photos!

A decade+ of photographing the Alvarez family has been a beautiful, ever-evolving story.

I am honored again and again, PLUS we always make time to chill on the day so I get friend time too!

Here’s to many more years of laughter, love, and beautiful moments with this incredible family. Cheers to the Alvarezes!
